Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - The foundation for what is today UMD Football was built decades ago when UMD hired a high school football coach to lead their team.

Jim Malosky was a hall of fame coach; a teacher; but perhaps most importantly was a Hall of Fame husband and father.

Malosky, who coached the Bulldogs for 40 years, died at the VA hospital in Minneapolis on Sunday of Respiratory failure. He was 82.

Malosky's career coaching record was 255 wins, 125 losses and 13 ties. He never missed a game or a practice during that time.
