Lynn Rogers says collared bear June went missing on Friday. She is presumed dead by Wildlife Research Institute staff.

June's GPS signal was lost Friday evening which prompted a search on Saturday.

June's collar was found at the DNR office in Tower, MN after a man turned it in the night before.

The Wildlife Research Institute calls the situation suspicious and says they did not receive verification if June had been shot.

The event follows the recent killing of Dot another of Lynn Rogers research bears.

There are currently 8 remaining collared research bears.
