Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) -- A rollover at the intersection of Midway Road and Tree Farm Road in Duluth sent 59-year-old, Karen Metcalf, to the hospital with a head injury.

The accident happened at approximately 11:00 a.m. Monday morning.

According to St. Louis County Sheriff Ross Litman, Metcalf was driving on Midway Road when the car swerved into the ditch, flew over the guard rail and hit a MN Power pole.

Metcalf was taken away in an ambulance with a head injury. No word yet on the woman's condition, however authorities do say that she was talking when she was taken away. She was the only passenger in the car at the time.

Officials are investigating the car crash and do not know yet what caused the incident.

MN Power crews are out inspecting the pole that was hit and will determine whether or not it needs to be replaced.

St. Louis County Sheriff's Office, Duluth Police and Proctor Fire Department all responded to the scene.
