Cloquet, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A school bus driver with the Cloquet Transit Company has been dismissed after allegedly assaulting a first grade student on the bus.

Cloquet Police say a concerned parent reported the incident on Thursday.

The student, who attends school at Churchill Elementary in Cloquet, did not require medical attention.

His parents were notified by police of the allegations.

Cloquet police are in the early stages of the investigation and are in the process of taking statements from the victim and potential witnesses to the incident.

Once the investigation is complete, the investigation will be forwarded to the City Attorney's office for review of potential charges.

Cloquet Schools Superintendent Ken Scarbrough told KBJR 6 & Range 11 that he has full confidence in the investigation by the Police Department and the district will continue to provide quality and caring busing for their students.
