(NNCNOW.com)-- The Elk River Police Department says that a child with a similar description to missing 2-year-old Daisy Jo Holland has been located by a dive team.
Authorities say the body was found around 2:34 p.m., on Sunday, just a few hundred yards from where Holland was last seen.
The 2-year-old went missing while on a camping trip at the Wapiti Park campground in Elk River on Friday. According to our partners at KARE 11, her parents were setting up their campsite when they noticed that their daughter was gone.
A massive search ensued the 2-year-old's disappearance. Saturday, police used volunteers to search a wider area starting at around 10:00 a.m. By 1:15 p.m., authorities were turning them away, saying they already had at least 250 out in the neighborhoods and along the banks of the Elk River looking for the little girl.
They even used buses to take volunteers to the more remote area.
All this while the water patrol and other agencies searched the Elk River and Orono Lake into which the Elk River flows.
