Cloquet, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Both Senator Amy Klobuchar and President Barack Obama have the economy on their minds today.
But while the President was making his speech about the recently released jobs numbers, Senator Klobuchar decided to focus on Minnesota's economic development and job growth in the state she represents.
Klobuchar started her statewide tour in Cloquet as the Sappi Paper Mill broke ground on its new facility. This new $170 million pulp mill conversion project is expected to bring in an estimated 400 jobs to the area during the lifetime of the project.
Klobuchar also plans to make her way to the Mesabi Trail in Eveleth to discuss boosting tourism and economic growth in Northern Minnesota. During her time on the Iron Range, Klobuchar will tour the Magnetation mine in Grand Rapids, a new operation for reclaiming old mining tailings basins and mine dumps for Iron Ore Concentrate.
On Saturday and Sunday, Klobuchar will make her way to St. Cloud and Winona to continue her business tour across Minnesota.
