Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) -- In the interest of safety the St. Louis County Transportation and Public works Department is looking at creating a new comprehensive traffic sign policy.
The department wants to develop a uniform system of signs.
Among the considerations is removing stops signs at entrances to private or public facilities and increasing the number of curve and turn warnings signs on gravel and paved roadways.
"There is safety considerations, traffic operation considerations, uniformity considerations, giving guidance to our sign forces so they know how to install the sign", St. Louis County engineer, Victor Lund said.
The St. Louis County board has asked the public works department to hold off on making any changes until the public has had a chance to weigh in.
No specific date has been set for the policy to come before the board, but it likely will be sometime in June.
