Madison, Wis. (NNCNOW.com) -- The 29th Annual Superior Days kicked off on Tuesday in Madison Wisconsin.
Superior Days is a grassroots community–based effort to bring issues of importance to Northwest Wisconsin to state legislators.
The event also gives students the opportunity to talk to law makers about issues facing the state.
This year, participants hope to discuss expanding highway two between Superior and Hurley, making it a two lane highway with passing lanes.
Those attending will also talk to law makers about giving counties in Northwest Wisconsin the option to raise the sales tax by half a percent to fund county highway projects.
Superior Days will continue on Wednesday, Feb. 19.
