Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) - A Superior landmark was in the national spotlight Sunday.

The History Channel's show 'Ax Men' premiered an episode featuring the Globe Grain Elevators site in Superior.

The show follows the work of several logging crews across the country and picked the globe site to feature because they've been working to salvage about unused timber.

Those working to salvage the wood say the national attention is great, but what's better is the positive impact salvaging the wood will have on the environment.

"This project means that by using this wood, recycling this wood, we're saving over 16,000 trees, that's almost a square mile of trees," said Dave Hozza.

The crews have been working to salvage the wood since 2005.
