Saturday evening 9 skydivers and 2 pilots shocked the nation by surviving a two plane collision.
We caught up with two skydivers as they told us about their experience first hand.
The skydivers of Skydive Superior do regularly what many fear to try...
"As skydivers we love the excitement, but tonight was over the top," says Barry Sinex of Skydive Superior.
The collision resulted when one plane got caught in the turbulence of the other.
"A couple airplanes that decided to take up the same space as we were climbing out," adds Sinex
Climbing out of the plane and ready to jump, just as the collision took place.
"We were in the airplane when they came apart and they were on fire right there so you heard this tremendously loud bang. You see the wing come off, you see it on fire, and its right there, its five feet from you," says Skydive Superior Instructor Mike Robinson.
The skydivers could see debris above them as their parachutes brought them to safety.
"We're just very greatful that we all got out of it. In the skydiving community we have other people that have not made it through and we just consider ourselves extremely fortunate." says Sinex.
One pilot was seen bloodied on the hand and face but sustained only minor injuries.
The crew now asks themselves...what's next?
"We will be suspending flight operations because we have the 2 aircraft. One was destroyed, one was damaged. It will require some repair," informs Robinson.
But skydivers agree, they will take to the air again.
The second wing for the crashed plane has not yet been located.
