Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) - A group of Superior High School students is helping those in need by hosting their annual telethon Saturday.

The live, seven hour telethon is run entirely by students and broadcasted on Superior cable channel 14.

They're taking pledges for the Salvation Army's Holiday Food Box program.

It's the fifth year the students have run the event and their instructor says they do it almost all on their own.

"When problems come up, they're solving it," said instructor Jeff Rosburg, "I'm just here to help out right at the end, we've taught them everything and now it's their turn to take control and go for it."

The telethon ran until 8 p.m. Saturday.
