Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - The Yeti made an appearance at an annual fundraiser to benefit the March of Dimes.

The third annual Yeti Snowmobile Tour kicked off Friday at Sunset Bar and Grille.

Raffle tickets to win a snowmobile, a lake cabin getaway and a $100 gift card for RJ Sport and Cycle were sold along with other merchandise.

Last year they raised $25,000 for the March of Dimes and hope to raise $40,000 this year.

The Alvar family started the event to benefit premature birth research, which is a cause that hits close to home.

"Our First son passed away because of birth defects and our second baby was three months early and lived for six days, and then we have two living sons who were both born pre-term and so we do this event to help out the March of Dimes so that all children will be born healthy and at their 40 weeks," said Kelly Alvar organizer of the fundraiser.

The tour is a two day 200 mile snowmobile event happening on January 25.
