Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- "Crunch", the Minnesota Timberwolves mascot visited Laura Macarthur Elementary School in Duluth Thursday to teach kids about crunching out their bad dental care habits.

Laura Macarthur was one of three schools chosen for the visit because of the number of students who receive free or reduced dental care through Children's Dental Services.

The presentation covered good dental habits such as brushing, flossing, and making sure to see the dentist regularly.

"We realize that preventative care is extremely important because over 51 million hours of school are lost annually due to dental related issues. Kids are missing out on a lot of school and that's why our program is so key," said Jo Koski, Assistant Manager of Children's Dental Services.

The students were also treated to a trampoline slam dunk show, put on by Crunch, and were given an autographed poster and a toothbrush.
