Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) - A number of business owners along Tower Avenue in Superior say they're already starting to experience the inconveniences of a massive road construction project.
Construction on North Tower Avenue in Superior has closed the road off to traffic and in turn has led to less foot traffic into stores like Satellite Services North.
"We are looking at how to relocate, we probably won't reopen at this location because this street project doesn't have any street parking at this location when it's done, so we'll probably have to look for something else," said owner Ric Lied
Lied says he's been at the Tower Avenue location for three years, and while other businesses have rear entrances, his does not.
"And with no rear entrance to the building, there is really no way we can do it anyways, we are standing on a side walk that I'm told in a few days or weeks won't even be here," he said.
Construction on Tower Ave started in early April and will last until October.
Total reconstruction of the road is necessary to rebuild the aging infrastructure.
While some businesses are relocating, others are just dealing with the changes.
"As far as the construction, moving here, we knew that this was going to happen so we had to take into consideration the back entrance, when the sidewalk would be tore up, it really hasn't affected us as of yet," said IT Manager of DiscoverPC.net.
DiscoverPC has been at the tower avenue location for a little over a year.
While they are going to tough out the construction, Lied says Satellite North may be back.
"That's our business model, to be available at a downtown location, central location, for people who are looking for us, so you might see us open back up somewhere on Tower Avenue."
Leid is completely moved out of the Tower Ave location, and hopes to find a different place downtown in the meantime.
He also has locations in Ashland and a Kiosk at the Miller Hill Mall.
