Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) ---A pickup truck fell through the ice on Fish Lake in Duluth early Sunday morning near a pressure ridge that the Minnesota DNR warned anglers and Snowmobilers about last week.
The truck drove about 100 feet off the plowed ice road on the Lake.
A witness tells us that there were no serious injuries, but estimates it will cost $3,000 to tow the truck from the lake.
A pressure ridge formed on the lake in mid January.
The ridge forms when two plates of ice push together and force pieces of jumbled ice above the lake's surface allowing water to seep through the cracks.
The ridges can be difficult to see and officials are concerned about snowmobilers hitting the ridges and getting hurt.
