Carlton, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) -It happened just before 6pm on Saturday.

Carlton County Sheriff's department received a call from 21 year old Dustin Solis stating that he and his girlfriend were stranded on the rocks in the St Louis River in the state park.

The two had just the rocks to get out in to the river and were unable to get back due to the fast moving waters.

Carlton Fire Department and the county dive and rescue team all responded to the scene.

Both were taken to the Cloquet Memorial Hospital but neither were injured.

Carlton County Sheriff Department reminds people visiting the park of the dangers of walking on the rocks in the river stating the rocks can be slippery and the water in the river is fast moving.
