Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Two people have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery and shooting Monday night at a business along London Road in Duluth.

A 29 year old man and a 32 year old man, both of Duluth, were taken into custody on Tuesday along the 1800 block of East Second Street. A .22 caliber revolver was located during the arrests.

Both were transported to the Saint Louis County Jail for Attempted 2nd Degree Homicide and 1st Degree Aggravated Robbery.

On Monday, police were called to the ILF Smartphone Clinic in Duluth at 7:18 p.m. on a report of a robbery and shooting.

An initial investigation revealed that two men wearing hoodies and masks entered the business and demanded money. The owner of the business, Colin Mackin, was shot after a struggle with the suspects outside of the business.

Authorities say the suspects then left the store with stolen property and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police say they should always be contacted first in the event of crimes before victims try to confront suspects, like in this case

"This small amount of property and some cash that was taken, but certainly it's not worth a life taken, and this man was very fortunate actually that he sustained a non life threatening, in the fact that it was in the upper right chest near the shoulder where he was shot," said Jim Hansen, Public Information Officer for the Duluth Police Department.

Mackin was transported to Saint Luke’s Hospital with a non-life threatening injury and remains at the hospital in stable condition.

Mackin posted an update on his Facebook page today.

He wrote quote "Thank you everyone for your overwhelming support over the last 24 hours. I am exceedingly blessed and absolutely humbled by the response to the events of last night. I should be dead right now, but against all odds, I'm not."
