Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Tonight, the architectural firm Hay Dobbs presented the current draft of the UMD Campus Master Plan to the Duluth City Council.

The plan includes establishing primary campus entries, connecting the campus to Woodland Avenue, and further integrating UMD into the city itself.

Officials the plan will pave the way for both short and long term growth.

"This allows for the growth of the university for... approximately 20 years out, at the pace of growth they're projecting. It also puts them in line with their peer institutions across the region in terms of square feet per student," said Tom Dobbs, of the Minneapolis-based architecture firm.

The current plan includes the potential future expansion of the Kirby Student Center and a new athletic facility.
