Superior, WI (Northland's NewsCenter) - Following an introduction from University of Wisconsin Superior Senior Hillary Peterson, Vice President Biden—or as he put it, school teacher Jill Biden's husband—wasted no time in starting his rally at the Superior Middle School with a little humor.

"I can't imagine how all the teachers and the principal felt when they heard Friday afternoon," said Biden.

In a rare turn of events this election season, Biden took time to talk about the teamwork between Democrats and Republicans in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, and said he hopes that partnership will continue after the Election.

"It reinforced my faith since the hurricane hit to watch the way in which Democrats and Republicans have been working together on the East Coast," said Biden.

Biden also touched on today's national unemployment numbers, which went from 7.8 percent to 7.9 percent: "We learned this Friday more jobs created in October than anytime the last 8 months. We saw over 170,000 new jobs created. Automotive Industry. highest level since 2008. Exports up 41 percent.. Highest since 2010."

It's a delivery that many Northlanders said they appreciate.

"I'm really, really glad that he can stop and touch people, and talk to us, who are everyday, ordinary, little people—I think that's great," said one eager attendee.

...feelings that Biden hopes will resonate on election day.
