Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) - The miraculous story of the eleven people who survived after their planes collided in mid-air over Superior Saturday is receiving national attention.

NBC's Today Show broadcast a live report from Superior Monday morning.

Officials say the two planes were flying together with a group of nine skydivers for a tandem jump when they collided.

Skydivers in both planes were just getting ready to jump when the collision happened and were able to parachute to safety.

The pilot of the trail plane was able to land safely, while the pilot of the destroyed plane used an emergency parachute to escape.

The pilot that used the parachute to escape suffered minor injuries from the impact of landing and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
