Vista Fleet sets sail for the season

Duluth, Minn. (NNCNOW.com) -- The Vista Fleet took its first voyage of the season into the harbor earlier this afternoon.

The boat ride was sold out for its first cruise out on the still icy waters of Lake Superior.

Vista owners say they have seen the foot traffic pick up and people are itching for a cruse.

While the lake may still be coated in ice, it has added another sight to see.

"Everybody has been hearing the stories of what the ice did and they want to see it," said President of the Vista Fleet Cruises, Justin Steinbach. "We are actually going to get an up close and personal journey of it. We are not going to go out on the Lake until it clears off, but back in the harbor they are going to get a great view that most people would never get."

Cruises are scheduled all weekend from 11:55 to 2:25 on Saturday and Sunday.

The gift shop is also open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. until June.
