Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - The non–profit, which offers services and programs to adults with intellectual and physical disabilities, hosted the sixth annual walkathon at their STEPS fitness center location and in the Holiday Center skywalk.

For a $10 pledge anyone could walk to raise money for the fitness center, which provides a place to work out for people who struggle in a traditional fitness setting.

But it was teams, like UMD's Women's Track and Field team, that came out in droves to show their support Wednesday.

According to sprinter Lauren Bruha, like track, life's opportunities should be for everyone.

"Everyone should have an equal opportunity to everything, and it's really good to show our support and get involved with everybody else," said Bruha.

Other teams that took part in the walkathon included UMD women's basketball, men's football and basketball, and Minnesota Power.
