Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) - Authorities have released the name of the woman who was hit by a van in Superior Tuesday night.

50 year old Shawn Roa of Superior is still listed in critical condition at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth, however she has been improving.

Tuesday night, the Superior Police Department was called to the scene of a car accident involving a pedestrian at the bottom of the Blatnik Bridge.

Authorities say Roa was breathing, but was not conscious when they arrived on the scene.

The driver of the van, a man from Duluth, told authorities that he did not see Roa when she stepped out in front of his vehicle. Witnesses say it didn't appear that Roa looked at the traffic on the road before darting out into the street.

Authorities say no alcohol was detected on the driver of the van.

This is an ongoing investigation.
