DULUTH, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- More than 35 of the world's best mathematicians are spending the weekend in the Northland.
It's all part of the seventh International Workshop of Graph Labelings.
The first workshop was held in Australia back in 2003, and this is the first time it has been held in North America.
Renowned speakers were invited from around the world to talk math on the UMD campus, something the attendees said was very beneficial in the field of mathematics.
"If you don't meet in person and you don't discuss things," Australian Mirka Miller said, :you sometimes don't realize you are working on exactly the same problem."
The workshop at UMD ended Friday, but most of the mathematicians will be attending a separate workshop Saturday on the UW-Superior campus.
