A crash in Duluth's East Hillside Wednesday afternoon sent a motorcyclist to an area hospital.

The collision happened at 18th Ave East and 8th Street.

Police say a car was traveling down 18th Avenue East when it pulled out in front of a mini motorcycle that was traveling westbound on 8th Street.

Authorities say the biker was conscious when he was transported by Gold Cross Ambulance.

"The motorcycle driver ended up with cuts and injuries to his head--he wasn't wearing a helmet," said Tom Stolee, Duluth Police Department traffic investigator. "A helmet could have potentially mitigated those types of injuries."

The female driver of the car did not sustain any injuries. Police say the incident is under investigation.
