The 101 on the Free Thanksgiving Day Buffet

The 22nd annual free Twin Ports Thanksgiving Buffet, put on by the College of St. Scholastica and the Twin Ports community, will be served from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thanksgiving Day at the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center.

Serving turkey dinner and all the trimmings to well over 4,000 people for free on Thanksgiving day is quite the undertaking. Roz shares how they do it, and how you can get involved.

She also indulges on how the buffet is putting an emphasis on using local foods this year. She shared that all the turkeys are from Minnesota, as are all the root vegetables like carrots and potatoes.

Santa Claus will be making an appearance for the kids, while live musical entertainment will keep the adults tapping their toes.

Want to make it down for a delicious meal but lacking transportation? You have no reason to worry because free transportation will be provided to a from the Buffet at the DECC, with a stop at the Holiday Center and shuttles from there. Continuous bus transportation will be available throughout the day from 24th Avenue East to 57th Avenue West. Call 722-SAVE (7283) for times and bus scheduling.

If you are home bound and cannot physically make it to the DECC on Thanksgiving day but would still love to get a warm Thanksgiving meal, you should call (218) 723-6484.

A buffet will also be available in Cloquet from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, 1000 Washington Ave. Home bound residents in the Cloquet and surrounding area who would like to request home delivered meals are invited to call (218) 879-9238.
