We have a winner in the John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon.
Organizers say it was the closest finish in the history of the Beargrease.
Ryan Anderson of Ray, Minnesota has won the 28th John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon.
Defending champion Nathan Schroeder of Chisholm crossed the Jean Duluth road finish line just behind Anderson.
Schroeder and Anderson crossed the Normanna Road at virtually the same time but then Anderson pulled ahead at the Fox Farm Road.
The two were in a virtual dead heat as they pushed at a brisk run toward the finish line with Anderson just edging our Schroeder.
Jamie Nelson, Colleen Wallin, and Peter McClelland weren't far behind.
