Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Following the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, violence and gun control has been a hot topic.
To encourage campus and community dialogue about critical issues, The University of Minnesota Duluth is hosting a panel discussion on perspectives on violence in society.
UMD faculty and staff will join several community leaders to discuss gun violence and the role it plays with mental illness, legal issues and the media.
Dr. Rebecca de Souza, an assistant professor in the UMD Department of Communication joined the KBJR 6 and Range 11 News Today to talk about the event.
It takes place, April 2, at 7 p.m. in the Kirby Ballroom and is free and open to the public.
UMD’s Chancellor Black will provide opening remarks.
