Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - The City of Duluth is thanking the public for their patience and cooperation as a Utility Operations crew worked to repair a water leak on a main feeder line that was discovered on North Arlington Ave between Olive and West Ideal Street Thursday afternoon.
The cracked pipe was caused by ground movement resulting from freezing temperatures, frost, and an aging infrastructure.
The utility crew worked until close to 4:00 this morning to
install a radial clamp on the impacted area of the pipe, which lies about 7 to 8 feet under frozen ground.
The utility crew worked through the night battling double digit below zero temperatures and a harsh windchill to make repairs.
