English Muffin Toasting Bread
Recipe can be easily doubled and freezes great.
3.5 teaspoons dry active instant yeast
1.5 tablespoons granulated sugar
5.5 cups bread flour
2.75 cups warm water about 115°F
Place all ingredients except water in a large bowl and mix. Careful not to mix the salt directly with the yeast. Make a well in the flour mix and add the warm water. Stir until just incorporated, it will be a very wet sticky dough. Leave the dough in the bowl and let it rise until doubled, about 1 1/2 hours. Spoon the sticky dough in 2 one pound size loaf pans and let rise again until the dough reaches the top of the pan. Bake in a pre-heated 350F degree oven for 45 minutes or until golden brown. Ten minutes before the bread is done, brush with 1 tablespoon melted butter.
