Andy Perfetti from Going Postal in Superior gives some shipping tips to holiday gift givers.
Andy says December 17 is the last day to get your package to its recipient on time without having to pay extra.
He says the shipping center is busiest at lunch-time and after work, so coming in in the morning or the hours between lunch and dinner is best.
As far as packing tips, Perfetti says don't use paper to pack delicate items. It condenses quickly and provides no cushion. Instead, he reccomends packing peanuts or air pillows.
He also says always use packing tape, not duct tape. Duct tape loses its sticking power in the cold, according to Perfetti.
Perfetti reminds people that if it doesn't need a big box to protect it, don't waste the materials. Padded envelopes come in a variety of colors and patterns and provide sufficient support for books, dvds, magazines, and the like.
