Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A group of Minnesota businesses and non-profits are coming together to prevent hearing loss.

Called One Day Without Sound, the campaign hopes to promote hearing loss prevention by showing people what it's like to not have hearing at all.

One Day Without Sound will take place May 1, 2014. Participants will be sent a packet with earplugs that, when worn, illustrate what it is like to not have normal hearing.

You can sign up at www.onedaywithoutsound.org.

Miracle Ear, one of the company's promoting the event, also offers free hearing evaluations. To receive an evaluation call Miracle Ear at 1-800-777-4672 or (218) 720-3787.
