UMD Prepares for 5 Day Shades of Africa Music Festival

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The University of Minnesota Duluth’s Department of Music is celebrating African American heritage and is preparing for its 5-dayShades of Africa Music Festival from April 2-6.

Organizers say each performance helps to inform other and celebrate the rich diversity of talented artists of African descent.

From solo recitals to traditional and choral concerts, the festival will feature world-class artists in a variety of settings.

Performances begin each day at 7:30 pm in the Weber Music Hall.

Rudy Perrault, the festival coordinator joined us on Tuesday on the KBJR 6 and Range 11 News Today and says a lot of preparation goes into planning an event this size.
