Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) -- While most recent high school grads are enjoying their summer break before going off to college, one Northland teen is being recognized for the role he has played in his school and community
Billy Menor received the Steve Rolland Youth Men as Peacemakers award this last year and has spent his high school career educating himself about social justice issues.
He was also very involved in getting the school levy passed as one of the leaders for Students for the Future, an organization at Duluth East High School.
The organization is dedicated to student involvement in the community and at school.
Menor also played a role in making a documentary about respecting student diversity.
Menor promises to keep making a difference beyond the Northland as he prepares to go to St. John's University in Collegeville Minnesota.
