Gordon, WI (NNCNOW.com) - The high cost of medications for certain chronic diseases can put them beyond the reach of patients on fixed incomes.
That happened to Dan Wachowski's dad when he was battling an aggressive form of prostate cancer.
He simply couldn't afford the medicine priced at thousands of dollars a month.
But an organization called "Good Days from the Chronic Disease Fund" stepped in to help.
The Fund paid for his dad's medication giving him more good days before he died.
Looking to pay it forward, Dan has created a charity fishing event to give other families more "good days."
