Twin Ports, MN/WI (NNCNOW.com) --- A hospital stay for a child can be scary, especially when you can't communicate your needs.

Linda Leckel functions at the level of a two year old child and cannot speak. Requiring extensive medical care and treatment her hospital stays were difficult.

Determined to make a difference, her mother, Reggie Leckel of Superior developed a simple questionnaire to help doctors and nurses understand Linda's special needs.

It has been used for more than a decade at a Northland Hospital giving a voice to not only her daughter but many other children who struggle to communicate.
