There are more dental care options coming to Carlton County for low income individuals.
Starting this month, Children's Dental Services will be providing monthly care for children under the age of 21 and pregnant women who are either on public assistance or uninsured.
A Children's Dental Services dentist and hygienist will now be at the Carlton County Public Health Services building the second Friday of every month.
The Dental group is making the program a monthly occurrence because they say Carlton County is underserved when it comes to dental care,
Dr. Morrell-Huot says a healthy community starts with healthy teeth.
"Lack of access to dental care has been shown to contribute to poor development, problems with speech, nutrition, and overall quality of life," says Dr. Morrell-Huot.
The services include dental exams, X-rays, cleanings, fluoride treatments, fillings, crowns, sealants and extractions when necessary.
