WLSSD taking Part in 'Cabinet Clean-Out Day'

Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) -- "Medicine Cabinet Clean-Out Day" is Friday, April 13 and The Western Lake Superior Sanitary District (WLSSD) will be hosting a free collection event for unwanted or expired medications.

The event will be held at its regional Household Hazardous Waste Facility on Friday, April 13 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

This one day event will offer residents free disposal of unwanted medications in a safe environment.

Residents may bring their own, or a family member's unwanted or expired medication to the waste facility for a free, confidential disposal.

Sarah Lerohl, the Environmental Program Coordinator says that getting the unwanted items out of your home is an easy way to protect your family and pets from accidental ingestion and misuse or abuse of the items.

The facility is located at 2626 Courtland Street in Duluth.
