Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Parents with a smart phone know that feeling. The feeling when one of your children hijack it.

A new report says even toddlers are now figuring out their favorite mobile apps work.

According to the report by common sense media, more than 1/3 of children under the age of two have access to some type of mobile device or tablet. That's up from 11 percent two years ago.

While the percentage of children using mobile devices doubled, the percentage of children using mobile devices doubled, the percentages of children watching TV significantly dropped to an average of less than two hours a day.

Now for something both children and adults are getting a kick out of. You've probably seen them in your Facebook Feed.

They're called Bitstrips

It's a desktop and mobile app where you create a cartoon of yourself and use the images as status messages.

You can even get your Facebook friends in on it, like we've done with the KBJR 6 & Range 11 News team.

The surprising thing is Bitstrips isn't all that new. They've been around since December of last year.

So why the sudden popularity? The updated release of the app for smart phones.

In fact, 11 million people have downloaded the app for their iPhone or Android phones.

With the popularity, also comes the backlash. Many Facebook users aren't wasting anytime trying to hide the comics from their feeds.

People have been unable to use the desktop version. Users are being greeted with an overloaded server message. The apps have been working fine, albeit slowly.

Halloween is just around the corner.

If you're looking for a last minute costume idea for your kid, there's a YouTube video trending in the Northland may shed some light.

Don't let the crying fool you. The 22-month-old is sporting her dad's custom made LED light costume.

The video has more than 15 million views and has generated so much interest the dad launched a website where you can buy the costume for next Halloween.
