Thomson, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - The historically high St. Louis River has wiped out the approach to the Highway 210 bridge in Thomson.
As 1 p.m. Thursday, the Saint Louis River through Scanlon reached 16.6" topping the previous record of 15.8" in 1950.
Officials say that the river has reached a major flood stage and water continues to flow into the river and the Saint Louis Bay.
The bay crested earlier Thursday at 10.1".
