Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - The Duluth Police Department is alerting the citizens of Duluth to limit their travel to emergency travel only.

Heavy rain has made driving conditions in Duluth hazardous and we have many flooded roadways.

City of Duluth Public Works crews are currently working to barricade danger areas. Current roads experiencing flooding include:

-Grand Avenue / Raleigh Street
-Morgan Park entrances
-Commonwealth and Stowe Street
-Hugo Avenue
-Myrtle Street
-600 Block East 3rd Street
-Kenwood Avenue
-Buffalo Street
-8200 E. Superior Street
-I-35 @ Lake Avenue

The Floodwood Police Department is advising residents not to travel unless absolutely necessary.

Highway 61 between Duluth and Two Harbors is closed.

Many streets and roads are flooded at this time. The Floodwood and St. Louis Rivers are rapidly rising and area ditches and creeks are filled to capacity.

Police advise to stay clear of fast moving waters and not to travel over roadways or streets that are under water.

Lake County Sheriff is reporting widespread flooding across the county, especially on Scenic 61.
