Long Term Recovery Committee Announces Information Meetings

Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) -- The long-term recovery committee information sessions have been scheduled.

Carlton County, St. Louis County, and the United Way of Greater Duluth are collaborating wtih other United Ways in northeastern Minnesota and Wisconsin, faith-based and social service organizations as well as government agencies, to organize the long-term recovery effort responding to the recent flooding.

There will be informational meetings on Wednesday, August 8 and Thursday, August 9 at locations in Duluth and Cloquet.

Meetings will be set up in Lake, Aitkin, Pine and Douglas counties in the near future.

The Long Term Recovery Committee is trying to help affected families develop a plan and receive adequate assistance for their recovery.

The Twin Ports Region Long Term Relief Fund has been established as a fund that addresses the long-term recovery needs of those people affected by the flood.

The meetings are as follows:

Informational meetings for Duluth / St. Louis County:
Wednesday, August 8 from 3 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.
Ordean Building Conference Room A

Wednesday, August 8 from 7 p.m. - 8:15 p.m.
Ordean Building Conference Room B/C
424 West Superior Street, Duluth

Carlton County:
Wednesday August 8 at 1 p.m.
Zion Lutheran Church, Fellowship Hall
1000 Washington Avenue, Cloquet

Duluth/St. Louis County:
Thursday, August 16 from 8 a.m. - 10 a.m.
Ordean Building Conference Room B/C
424 West Superior Street, Duluth
