Cloquet, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) -- The Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs has approved an application process that could help veterans, and their families, who have been affected by June's massive floods in Carlton County.

Veterans who apply can be eligible for up to a $750 reimbursement to help defray cleanup costs from flood damage.

For those that are interested are asked to contact the Carlton County Veterans Service Office to acquire an application.

Applications and copies of receipts must be dated between the disaster timeframe, which is June 13, 2012 - September 30, 2012.

Items that may apply include appliance/furnace, building materials, cleaning supplies, clothing, flooring, food, plumbing supplies, rental costs for generators, water pumps, sump pumps, bob cats, backhoes, chain saws, sand/sandbags, shelter costs if displaced by the flood, and sheetrock.

Only one application is allowed per veteran.
