Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The residential permit parking zone around Denfeld High School is in the process of being reviewed for potential changes.
A community forum at Denfeld High School was held Monday evening to see how neighbors feel regarding the parking zones.
Currently there are parking zones around the school for residents, which are now being assessed, gauging the need.
Parking officials say options going forward include shrinking the zone, keeping it the same as it is, expanding it, or even getting rid of it all together.
"If we don't provide some sort of a resident parking zone, roughly from the hours of eight o'clock in the morning to four o'clock PM, give or take, is that the residents, during the school day, during the school year will not have a place to park their vehicles because of the student population in increasing number of whom drive to school," said mark Bauer, parking operations specialist with the city of Duluth.
A proposal will be brought before the Duluth parking commission for review once a consensus is reached.
