DULUTH, Minn. (NNWNOW.com) --- A bill aimed at preparing for propane shortages is moving forward in the United States Senate.

Senators Al Franken (D-MN), Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), and Rob Portman (R-OH) say their bill will improve propane supply, enhance coordination in shortage responses, and study whether propane reserves should be established.

In a statement, Al Franken said the bipartisan bill will help the government respond more quickly to future propane shortages, plus help prevent them in the first place.
