Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com)--- Progress is being made on construction for a new upscale tavern in Superior.

Renovations are underway in Superior's former City Hall building on the corner of Broadway and Hammond for the new "Spirit Room" restaurant.

Crews have been working to restore the building to make it look as close as possible to an old 1800's style pub.

The tavern will feature a tapas style menu, what the manager calls "mini masterpieces" like bruschetta or pizza.

The Spirit Room will have local beers on tap, and stock higher end wines and liquor.

The restaurant will seat 60 to 80 people.

"I see and I think a lot of us behind this project are just hoping to really have this place full, you know, friendly, comraderie, just a good place you know, when you walk in, it's going to be almost like home I guess," said manager Lindsey Graskey.

If all goes as planned, The Spirit Room should be opening in Mid June
