On July 4 the City of Duluth will be hosting the Annual Fourth Fest Celebration in the Bayfront area.

Limited parking will be available at the DECC parking ramp and in the parking lots on Railroad Street west of 5th Avenue West.

Harbor Drive will be closed early on the fourth to accommodate the arrival of the Clelia II, and the tours of the S/V Denis Sullivan.

Traffic congestion will grow as the day progresses in this area.

It is advised to park in the downtown area and walk to the Bayfront area.

Prior to the fireworks display 5th Avenue West, below I35, will be closed to down bound vehicle traffic.

Harbor Drive will not reopen until early Monday morning.

The Aerial Lift Bridge will be in the down position from 7:00 p.m. on July 4 to 1:00 a.m. on July 5.

Fireworks will commence at 10:10 p.m. and last 20 to 25 minutes.

Vehicles in the Canal Park and Park Point area should expect long delays at the conclusion of the fireworks display.

Access to the Canal Park and Park Point areas will be restricted until most of the congestion in that area has been alleviated.

If you need to get to those areas, it is advised to return there before 10:00 p.m. to avoid the delay.

The Duluth Police Department will be providing traffic control at the end of the fireworks to facilitate the smooth exit of vehicles and pedestrians from this area.

Be aware of them and watch for their directions.
