Arkansas man charged in federal court for Duluth bank robbery

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- An Arkansas man has been charged in connection with a New Year's Eve bank robbery in Duluth.

35 year old Kenja Omar Deangelo Carmichael was charged in federal court with one count of bank robbery.

The charge is in connection to a December 31st robbery at U.S. Bank in Duluth. The suspect allegedly demanded money and told the clerk that he had a gun in his bag, however never pulled out the weapon.

Carmichael was taken into custody last month in West Memphis, Arkansas by FBI Agents and local authorities.

If convicted, Carmichael faces a potential maximum penalty of 20 years in prison. This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew Dunne.
