Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- A Duluth man is in police custody Wednesday night in connection with making terroristic threats and apparently waving guns in the air on a busy city street.

Police say the man waved what appeared to be two handguns at passing cars by multiple witnesses.

The incident happened shortly before noon Wednesday on the 3100 block of West 3rd Street, a few blocks away from the Wheeler Athletic Complex.

Witnesses told officers they saw the man get on a DTA bus.

The suspect was later identified as a 33-year-old Duluth man.

Officers pulled over the bus and detained the man who had the two handguns, one of which was a bb gun, the other an airsoft gun, in his possession.

The man was arrested and taken to St. Louis County Jail for making terroristic threats, a felony, along with disorderly conduct, and possession of a BB gun in a public place.

While at the county jail the man became uncooperative and spit on an officers face.

Police added an additional felony charge of 4th degree assault to the list.
