Barnum, MN (NNCNOW.com) - It wasn't the clean getaway a 22-year- old Brooklyn Center Minnesota man had hoped for after allegedly robbing a bank teller at gunpoint.
Moshood Kayode Olad Alad Itabiyi is accused in the armed robbery of the Northview Bank in Barnum Thursday afternoon.
Authorities arrested the suspect following a traffic stop later in the day in Pine County.
Itabiyi admitted to robbing the Northview Bank by using a replica handgun and he acknowledged stuffing the money into a peach colored pillow case.
Police say he fled the bank to make his way back to his vehicle, he realized he had locked his keys in the getaway car.
He then admitted to going to a nearby residence in Barnum where he went into a garage and stole a hammer to use to break out the window of his car to gain entry and drive away from the area.
Itabiyi is being held at the Carlton County jail on $30,000 bond.
